Good things come from rail trails! In this case, the Pinellas Trail runs all the way from St. Petersburg to Tarpon Springs, offering a multi-use corridor that's open from 7am to sunset.

Good park to drive to for trail access, nice shaded parking areas, restrooms, water fountains. Playground for kids. Roughly half way between St. Pete downtown area and Dunedin. Approximately 12 miles to either destination from Seminole City Park.

I was told this was the only public spot you can fill your water bottle with cold water along the whole Pinellas Trail. That isn’t true, but there aren’t very many.

This is a great trail running like a chain of parks from Safety Harbor to Clearwater. Several pedestrian bridges make it easy crossing the busier streets. Pinellas has it together for cyclists and pedestrians.
