Necropolis of Etruscan origin dating back to the 7th century BC. In addition to the Etruscan tumulus and dice tombs, there are also the ruins of the later castle of medieval origins, where San Giovenale, the first bishop of Nanni, was buried.

Very suggestive, hard but rewarding route. In the summer months I highly recommend the use of a sunscreen. To cross the tunnels of the former Capranica Civitavecchia railway it is essential to have lights and pay the utmost attention due to missing masonry slabs on the floor that reveal dangerous channels.

Yes, maybe the last tunnel a little dirty and with a low wall to pass at the end but still passable

Hi everyone! I just wanted to know that the old Civitavecchia-Capranica railway is a cycle path along the embankment? Thanks for the feedback! Enrico from Salzburg, Austria (I'm a lover from the area)

++EDIT+++ AT THE MOMENT IT'S CLOSED WITH A GATE - YOU NEED TO LIFT BIKES OVER IT, OR TO WALK AT THE RIVER LEVEL (BOTH UNCONFORTABLE OPTIONS, BUT DOABLE) Ex railway bridge on the river Mignone. Nice landscape and wild area
