Tips from the Community

Francesco Di Fiore
March 25, 2026, Dwór Ługów

The origins of the village of Ługów date back to the turn of the 14th and 15th centuries, when Lasota was its owner. In the 15th century, the owners of Ługów were three knightly families: Ożarowscy, Ługowscy, and Jakuszowie. In the 16th century, the Ługowscy family, and in the 18th century, the Stoińscy family. In 1731, Daniel Kowalewski is mentioned as the owner of Ługów, followed by the Niezabitowscy and Iżyccy families. In 1819, Antoni Iżycki sold the estate to his brother Józef. Józef Iżycki left the Ługów estate to his brother Benedykt. Wanda Wojakowska then became the new owner of Ługów. In 1925, the remnants of the estate after enfranchisement were purchased by Zygmunt and Helena Łabęccy, who owned the Ługowscy estate with an area of 281 ha until the end of World War II. The estate included, among other things, a wooden manor house, which was extended with a brick part and a park in 1913. The first wooden, corner manor house was most likely built at the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries. Another manor house, made of larch wood, was erected during the Iżyccy family's ownership, parts of which have survived to the present day. After the war, a primary school operated in the manor house, and teachers lived in part of the building. Currently, the manor house and the surrounding park with a total area of 4.56 ha are privately owned.
