Cape Marlera Lighthouse The easternmost part of the Marlera peninsula, located in the south, is approximately 6 km from Ližnjan-Lisignano and is called Punta Grkova. The name dates back to the settlement of Greeks from Cyprus in the 16th century. A lighthouse was built on the cape between 1865 and 1880, 25 m offshore, which the residents of Ližnjan-Lisignano named 'Lanterna'. The Marlera lighthouse was built in the immediate vicinity of several islets and rocks to ensure the safety of navigation due to the strong currents and strong winds in winter. The lighthouse was continuously inhabited from its construction until 1970.

Someone called the complex an eyesore (see other highlight), but we really like it here and the other person is sleeping somewhere too.

The trip around the Marlera peninsula from the port of Liznjan takes about 60 to 90 minutes (depending on your mood). The most beautiful time in Marlera is at sunset when the sun is over Levan and Medulin. This is where you will find the most beautiful photo opportunities.
