Noland Creek Trail follows a gentle valley through the southern Smokies, paralleling its namesake creek for much of the way. The wide, shaded path passes cascades, bridges, and old homestead sites, making it a quiet walk with both natural beauty and a touch of history. Water is plentiful along the route, and the steady grade makes it accessible for hikers of all levels.

Thompson Trail is mostly covered by trees, and has a wonderful section with lake views. The trail itself is not so challenging, but is a very enjoyable easy walk. Bikers and horse riders also take this trail.

Like other old fire watch towers in GSMNP, Shuckstack is not for everybody to climb up, but if you do you'll be rewarded with spectacular views all around.
