At the very back of the Short Springs Natural Area on the Adams Falls Trail is a small, yet intriguing, waterfall named Adams Falls. The waterfall is a cascade off a drop of a few feet. The waterfall is seasonal, but if you hit it at the right time, you'll likely get it all to yourself.

Over 60 feet tall and nearly 60 feet wide, Machine Falls is the biggest waterfall in the Short Springs Natural Area. There is a short spur trail that leads down to the base of the falls, and multiple trails give access to the spur trail. The falls are situated in a dense forest and kind of surprise you when you walk up on them.

Busby Falls is a stairstep cascade that is one of many waterfalls within the Short Springs Natural Area. The waterfall is the closest to the trailhead and is the most popular on the property, but it can easily be combined with Machine Falls in a loop route.
