This approximate 1/2 mile section climbs steeply to the saddle before a fun descent on somewhat heavy gravel. Views to the Three Sisters and Mt Bachelor help ease the pain, and the route ahead is well worth the effort to get here.

Although you wouldn't think it of a city park, Dry Canyon offers a great opportunity to enjoy the wildlife of the Central Oregon High Desert. With a variety of wild flower and fauna, you are sure to enjoy a peaceful outing.

Round Mountain stands at 6,755 feet above sea level and is accessible via either the northern trailhead at Walton Lake or the southern trailhead near Lookout Mountain. A fire lookout station once stood on the summit, but was burned down in a fire in 1972. The summit now hosts a communication tower.
