One of the most beautiful spots in the area, if not the most. The road from Jaraba to Calmarza is spectacular, although quite bumpy.

At this point we can take the detour to approach the Sanctuary of Jaraba, an imposing and impressive hermitage located in the Barranco de la Hoz Seca, with rocky walls next to the river canyon. A highly recommended visit if we are in the area. The guided tour is recommended.

With the mission of defending the Kingdom of Aragon from the Kingdom of Castile, this Castle is located on top of a hill overlooking the town with the natural defense of the Henar River. All these castles in the Calatayud region were very important during the War of the Two Pedros. It is currently in ruins.

As we pass through Monterde, we cannot miss the town's Castle located on top of the rocky hill where the remains of the square-plan tower that was part of a medieval fortress located in the Aragonese town are preserved. At present it is protected as an archaeological zone.
