The central square in downtown Castellòn de la Plana is bustling during the week. There are sometimes open exhibitions, demonstrations, and information booths, and the large market hall is also located right next to this square. There, you'll find just about everything locals and tourists could want, from local and regional culinary delights to a quick snack.

A small, lovely restaurant with a very quiet and pleasant atmosphere. A dream for anyone who follows a vegan or vegetarian diet. They offer a variety of starters and main courses at reasonable prices, all of which are delicious, and the staff is very friendly. I'd be happy to come back here on my next visit to Castellòn.

The post office building in the Spanish city of Castellón de la Plana was completed in 1932 and is one of the city's most representative buildings. It was designed in the Neo-Mudéjar and Valencian Art Nouveau styles by the architects Demetrio Ribes y Marco and Joaquín Dicenta Vilaplana. (Wiki) A beautiful building, one worth including on your itinerary while strolling through the city.

The Centenario fountain was inaugurated in 2002, as part of the celebrations of the centenary of the port of Castellón. This emblematic fountain is located on an old pier built at the end of the 19th century and includes a bronze sculpture by local artist Juan Ripollés. A notable historical detail is that the semicircle of stone surrounding the fountain is made up of 120 original ashlars that come from the old pier, adding significant heritage value to the project. Nowadays, already restored, it exhibits a lighting system at the base that will create visual effects with the water. Operating Hours: Hydraulic System - Monday to Thursday and Sunday from 8am to 11pm Lighting System - from dusk to 11pm Monday to Thursday and Sunday, and will be extended until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.

The historical beginnings of the maritime signalling of Grao de Castelló predate the existence of the port itself. The primitive lighthouse, designed in 1864, had a short range, as navigation at height was carried out using the Oropesa and Columbretes lighthouses. It is an octagonal tower made of carved ashlar, it is crowned by a cornice supported by corbels with a small balcony, turret and lantern. As this lighthouse was too small to cover the coastal area, a new, larger lighthouse was built next to it in 1971 and when the old small lighthouse no longer had any practical use it was moved to a prominent location in the Moll de Costa.
