This small bridge over the Achterwetering takes you past the Donkse Laagten, a vast polder landscape teeming with unique birds. In spring, you can spot black-tailed godwits and purple herons here. Can't find them? Just enjoy the open landscape.

The church wasn't easy to photograph from outside the Singel canal. I tried to enter the church grounds for better photo opportunities, but the gates were all locked. I've never seen a church grounds locked. Usually, even the church is freely accessible, especially abroad. However, this isn't the case in Ridderkerk. It's very inhospitable.
