The Kokemäenjoki river is one of Finland’s major rivers, stretching about 121 kilometres from lake Liekovesi in the Pirkanmaa region to the Gulf of Bothnia at the city of Pori.

if you just want to get quickly from Ulvila to Kokemäki (or vice versa), I’d recommend riding on the other side of the river instead: no town/village centres to navigate or busy highway to cross, less traffic in general (not that this side is too busy either), plus you even get better views of the river as a bonus

not much traffic, flat but winding, good asphalt on roadway, long bike path in the Harjavalta end (and a short one in the other) but it changes from one side of the road to the other so many times I lost count plus there is at least one place where you may end up on a side street if you don’t switch sides in time (read: I wouldn’t bother, the traffic certainly does not warrant it)

Small village with picturesque rapids and an open air museum.

flat, bike path throughout the entire segment but the asphalt has lots of cracks and there isn’t much car traffic, okay asphalt on the roadway

little traffic, flat but winding, nice views of the river in many places, okay asphalt, short sections of bike path at both ends (I wouldn’t bother)
