Very beautiful castle that this castle of Montgeoffroy, always property of the duke of Contades, a very old family of the French nobility, close to the kings of France. This castle can only be visited with a guide and it is rather a good thing because the explanations offered are very interesting and make it possible to understand, through the life of the family and its intimacy with the royal power, a whole current era of the end of the XVIIth to the beginning of the XXth. Since the castle is regularly inhabited, through the contemporary intimacy of the family, one enters on tiptoe into this theater of the French nobility, a small closed circle which sometimes allows a look.
