Col de la Croix de Fer - from Allemond

Highlight (Segment) • Mountain Pass

😍 Insanely beautiful climb.

The climb of over 29 kilometers starts in Allemond. After the stretch along the lake, the climb takes you into sheltered green nature. It can be wet here (dangerous on the descent!).
The first part of the descent is 18 km from the top.
There is a dam 9 km from the top, where you have a beautiful view of the lake.
Soon after this follows a small descent and the last part of the climb.
The further the climb progresses, the further the view opens. Very beautiful!
When you enter the last 2.5 kilometers of this climb, the side road to the Glandon appears.

At the top there is a small terrace where you can relax.

Iconic climb. Prepare for a very long climb. The downhill sections in between are especially mentally demanding.

Choosing your slope is like choosing the taste of a sorbet, in any case it is deserved at the end of a pass.

Stunning but difficult climb, it's better not to overdo it at the bottom to avoid running out of energy at the top. From the artificial lake of Grand'Maison the main difficulties are behind us and it is like diving into a postcard.
