The Notre-Dame de Callot chapel stands on the highest point of the small tidal island of Callot, off Carantec in the Bay of Morlaix. According to tradition, its origins date back to the early 5th century; however, the present building largely dates from the 16th and 17th centuries. The simple granite chapel with its distinctive bell tower was an important place of worship for the region's sailors for centuries. Numerous votive offerings and ship models, with which sailors thanked the Virgin Mary for protection at sea, still bear witness to this today. Due to its elevated position, the chapel also offers an impressive view over the Bay of Morlaix. The island itself is accessible from Carantec at low tide via a submersible road.

I know I'm a fan of the tobacco bars in France. I'm always impressed, and rightly so. Of all the more than 100 tobacco bars I've been to this time, I've only had two disappointments (with the restrooms). Otherwise, we've had nothing but good experiences. And here – simply fantastic – highly recommended. If you want to experience France – then definitely go to lots of tobacco bars!
