Unlike the Blochmont, which crosses the same ridge just a little further on, this road from Wolschwiller is considerably more challenging. After a gentle start, the route climbs relatively steeply through the narrow valley. A stream flows to the right, while beautiful rock formations are often visible to the left. At the top, near the unmistakable 'Lange Matte' (Long Meadow), the terrain levels out again, and soon you're at the top.

I can only agree with Mattia: it's a short stretch of road through fields, but otherwise completely unspectacular, not even worth a tip...

One of the few 'classic' mountain passes (🤣) near Basel. As Koblinator wrote: Thanks to the gentle gradient, it's a pleasant ride that doesn't significantly impact your average speed.

Biederthal is often reached by car from Basel / the Birstal valley, but this point here is nothing special in itself.

The former Altkirch-Waldighofen railway line has been converted into a cycle path in some sections, leading through fields and forests without disturbing car traffic. Highly recommended!

There are just so many magnificent well-kept Alsatian half-timbered houses along this route, take your time and enjoy the beauty of them. There are also several cafés and restaurants along the way

A new relatively short stretch of cycle path from Flüh to Leymen. It runs along the tram line. Together with the cycle path from Biel-Benken to Flüh there is a slightly higher alternative, but without traffic instead of the main road down by the riding school. And the view is more beautiful here anyway...
