It is a town to breathe the tranquility of the mountains in all its expression. It is located halfway between the climb to the Col de la Llosa and the Coll de Jouell, therefore, it is a common stopover for cyclists who cover the Route du Cols. Like any good town, it has a beautiful fountain where we can recharge water for the challenges we are going to face.

It is a small elevation that allows you to connect Railleu and Caudiès-de-Conflent with Aiguatèbia in the most direct way possible. The road is very narrow although it has been recently paved and the asphalt is simply perfect. On the Aiguatèbia slope it is approximately 3 km very hard, although with wonderful views of the valley. You can not lose this!

The high-mountain environment of Égat makes summer and early autumn ideal for road cycling, when passes are clear of snow and weather conditions are generally stable. While some roads may be accessible in winter, conditions can be challenging due to snow and ice, especially at higher altitudes.
Given the moderate to difficult ratings and significant elevation gains of the listed routes, they are generally more suited for experienced cyclists. While the routes themselves focus on natural landscapes and quiet roads, they often start or pass through small villages and towns in the Cerdagne valley. These locations, such as La Llagonne or Palau-de-Cerdagne, typically offer cafes, bakeries, or small shops where cyclists can refuel before or after their ride.
Public transport options in this high-mountain region can be limited. While some larger towns in the Cerdagne valley might have bus connections, reaching specific starting points like La Llagonne or Sainte-Léocadie directly with a bike might require checking local bus schedules and bike policies in advance. Driving to the starting points is often the most convenient option.
