This small pond is actually artificial and has been dammed. In recent years the dam has had to be repaired and the costs of these repairs have been high enough to cause the local council to question whether the pond and dam can be retained. I think we can all agree that we're glad they kept it.

Château de Losmonerie was built in 1540 by Jean Chantais, it has a beautifully decorated interior and guided tours are available. The gardens are also impressive with distinct gardens: the French garden, the gourmet garden and the wild garden on the banks of the Vienne.

The site allows you to take all three on the same plane with a beautiful panorama. Take the time to go all the way where you have a view of the valley and the highway.
