The remnants of a much bigger forest, high on a hill. Very atmospheric place.

Fine view into the enclosed valley of The Goggin

You do get a view of the distant Welsh Hills from the summit, but you need to stand on the bench to get a good view as the trees are starting to grow and block it out.

Having passed over a low ridge above All Saints church, the way ahead becomes more hilly, which is a relief after so much distance spent walking on flat ground. Up ahead the Mortimer Forest and High Vinnalls dominate.

As you start to gain height, you get a fine view over All Saints church into the flat lands of the Teme / Lugg valley, and the Worcestershire hills beyond

A fine old church, and the black and white Church Cottage is even more picturesque.
