It's beautiful to ride along the river here. Close to the city and still exhales a very calm mood.

Almost 1000 years old, of the seventeen arches that constituted the former bridge these are the only two that made it relatively unscathed into the nineteenth century having survived the ravages of time, the elements, and civil war, to bequeath us a priceless legacy of medieval gothic bridge building.

The memorial gardens were laid out to commemorate the dead of WW1. The land was given to the city by Sir Jesse Boot and the project was completed in 1927. The area is open to the public and adjacent to the Victoria Embankment and the Trent River paths.

The largest public city centre area after Trafalgar Square, the marketplace is a focal point of Nottingham city centre. The 1920s council house stands grand at one end, with fountains and statues around it. It's still used as a market, and the Christmas market is especially good.
