This church has changed very little since 1437, which is quite special and not usual in itself. Many people come here to visit the tomb of Alice de la Pole (Geoffrey Chaucer's granddaughter). A lot of the church is here thanks to the vision of Thomas Chaucer (Geoffrey's son) and his Alice (whose husband was the Duke of Suffolk): they founded a chantry chapel and trust. There are also almshouses here and a school, built in 1432 by Alice and her husband.

There are wonderful views towards the south from the northern end of this segment (on the Chiltern Way long-distance trail) - the track drops to Well Place Road to the rise again on the other side of the valley. You also have the gentle Warren Hill rising up the grassy pasture slops to the east as you walk the track. A beautiful place.

Very beautiful stone bridge with fragments from the 13th century. The Wallingford Bridge is almost 270 m long. From the bridge you have a beautiful view of the Thames and the "Boat House".
