pub with a small shop with fruit, drinks, ice cream, coffee, shop hours 9am until 6, pub hours midday until 11pm, if you'd like something from the shop after hours, ask in the pub and they'll get it for you, great place, friendly staff and the food and beer in the pub is very good

A really nice varied route. The fast majority of it is really wide too. Very quiet on an overcast autumn week day.

This was on the last leg of the King Alfredโs Way for me and was one of the few descents in the whole trip i walked, dry conditions but on a loaded gravel - the descent was more treacherous than i was prepared to risk / but amazing views from the top and a fast through the fields ride from the bottom.

A great trail for family rides, pubs can be found not far from the trail. It narrows towards the northern end, and gets very dark at dusk, take lights if you think you'll be riding at dusk or beyond.
