This is a lovely trail that travels between the Grand Union Canal and Startop's End Reservoir via a green walkway. In the area you'll find sitting benches, beautiful grasslands and riverboats. Additionally a nearby birdwatching hide provides an excellent opportunity to observe local wildlife.

I saw a kissing gate so assumed the footpath to the Grand Union was on the north side of the hedge. It isn't. Stay in the cow field and you''ll only have to contend with the cows (who came running over and followed me at close quarters for a while - no photos) and a kissing gate semi-blocked by a old gate when exiting the field not this nightmare of nettles.

Make sure you end up here. I got it right the first time I walked in this area and wrong the second. Follow this lane, do not pass into the field to the south.

There's a railway underpass before the crossing indicated on the map - which I still have never seen as I use the tunnel. Coming out onto the road I was dismayed to see no way through to the field with the cows, but after some careful checking I discovered it. If you have secateurs bring them on this walk and have a go at this access point!
