This stretch of road is called Park Gate. From the top of Park Gate you have extensive southerly views to Mentmore ridge, Mentmore Towers (1850s) and beyond to the Chiltern escarpment are spectacular. Park Gate is set within former parkland of Wing Park which also housed extensive gardens of a lost mid-16th century manor house.

A plaque and obelisk to mark those that served and returned from the First World War. At the time of the First World War, the total population of the parish was 71. Of these 15 enlisted to serve and all of them returned. There were few places in England where all the men returned safely. These places became known as β€œThankful Villages”.

Beautiful views of the reservoir - usually as still as a duck pond. And if you're lucky you'll see some actual ducks too!

A nice stretch of road on the edge of The Chilterns. Quiet and usually car free, but don't forget the small climb at the end.

"The church dates from c.1190. The tower arch is C13 and the side aisles are C14. The font is Norman, and the C15 roof has protective angels with shields! More details are available in the church which is usually open during daylight hours. St Peter & St Paul’s church had a thorough restoration in 1887-1889, but there remain many interesting features from earlier times: which makes it a particularly pretty church: quintessentially English!"
