Nice walk but really muddy at this time of year so only attempt with the right footwear. The smell from the pigs is ripe, so be prepared. Fortunately you'll be passed it in about 5/10 mins depending which way the wind is blowing!

A gorgeous, historic village, South Mimms boasts both a Grade I-listed church and the earthen remains of an ancient motte-and-bailey castle. St Giles church is a fine sight, with many notable monuments. There is some lovely walking in North Mymms Woods to the north of the village. After a ramble, the traditional Black Horse pub serves good food.
