Nestled by the River Mole, the Dolphin is a lovely country pub that serves traditional pub food and seasonal specials too. It's on the Greensand Way, a 108-mile (174 km) long-distance trail through Surrey and Kent. There's plenty else to explore in the surrounding countryside too, such as Betchworth Castle's ruins, the historic St Michael's Church and the ever-popular Box Hill.

November 24, 2023, Shere Village

A quintessential English village, Shere was made famous as a filming location for the Holiday, the Christmas movie starring Jude Law, Kate Winslet, Jack Black and Cameron Diaz. The Tillingbourne runs through the village and is a popular place for paddling in the summer. There is an ice cream shop and the Dabbling Duck cafe is very popular. Their cake selection is second to none.

Brockham is a picturesque little village to the south of Box Hill. It is famous locally for its huge bonfire and firework display which takes over the whole village on Bonfire Night. If you are in the area at the beginning of November, it is well worth coming along to check it out.
