A truly great experience was passing close to a small Little Tern reservation. There were hundreds of these lovely, small birds, and the lady looking after them told us they had 77 nests in that area. She mentioned they are summer visitors, predominantly found in this region.

This long sandy beach allows dogs all year round and stretches all the way to Sea Palling. Backed by cliffs, evidence has been discovered that humans have lived here for more than 800 000 years. Public toilets are available at the car park.

Built in 1790, Happisburgh Lighthouse is the oldest working lighthouse in East Anglia and the only independtly-run lighthouse in the UK. The iconic tower is painted white with three red bands and is 85 feet (26 meters) tall. The light can be seen up to 18 miles (29 km) away.
