Beautiful ride on a perfect day. Cloudless sun, acceptable temperature (1 degree in Fey at 9:30 and -2.5 at Colle del Nivolet around 5 PM), but above all the road was closed (it would be forbidden for cyclists too... but how can that be??). No cars, no motorbikes and on a Monday... the best. The climb is not too hard but requires training because the average in many sections is 9.5%. The hardest part is getting to the Serù dam. From there, 8km remain, but sections at 7% alternate with others at 10% and then... by now... You have to make it! Beautiful landscape with dustings of snow on the mountains. Little residual snow on the road and no ice on the descent. In these times and on a beautiful day, the sun sets around 5:30 PM and then the cold makes itself felt. The sunset sun colors the rocks red. Lake Nivolet was frozen and could not be reached by bike due to snow on the road, an indication that the sun never hits it. The descent, if well covered, can be done without too much cold. The beauty of the evening is that you can see ibexes! And at the Serù dam, a fox hangs out waiting for food from humans... DO NOT give it any, it only hurts it and it loses its hunting instinct. Depending on where you left your car, equip yourself with high-beam lights because the provincial road is dark and there is little traffic.
