One of the several access trails to the forest area. Numerous information signs are placed here and there, each highlighting a different aspect of forest life and nature conservation. There are many paths through the forest, some for hikers only, and others for mountain bikers only, but most trails are open to everyone!

Since 1654, the castle domain, located along the Kasteelstraat in Lozer, has been owned by the della Faille d’Huysse family. The beautiful castle was called ‘’t Goed Uplosere’ in the 17th century. The block-shaped castle acquired its current neoclassical appearance during renovations in the 18th century. From the Kasteelstraat you can see the symmetrical rear facade. From the Appelhoekstraat you have a view of the front facade. The 19th century park in English landscape style consists of ponds, winding paths, bridges and appurtenances such as a walled vegetable garden, caretaker’s house, dog kennel, coach house, tower-shaped garden pavilion, farmyard and gatehouse. From the castle domain, a double avenue leads to the O.-L.-Vrouw van Bijstandkerk.

To the right of the deanery lies the cemetery, built in 1844-1845 on land purchased from the then lord of the castle, Viscount Desmanet de Biesme. It is a completely hedged terrain with an entrance gate between square, whitewashed brick pillars, shaded by an imposing beech. On the south-east side, an imposing clipped yew hedge with a row of poplars on the inside has been preserved. A diagonal axis runs through the domain with the war memorial on the left and a centrally placed cemetery cross above a hill of artificial rocks with graves of various pastors. The monumental iron crucifix is supported at the bottom by four kneeling angel figures, donated by Mrs. Seeuws in 1858. At the end of the road is the early neo-Gothic burial chapel of the lords of the castle, built in 1848 by Viscount P. K. Desmanet de Biesme and Countess E. vander Meere based on a design by architect Pierre Nicolas Croquison. (Inventory of Immovable Heritage)
