From this point, you have a superb view of the Josselin castle. There are opportunities for free and guided tours. The annual closure is from November 1 to April 8. The Castle dates from the beginning of the 11th century, when the nearby Viscount of Porhoët had a palisade built on this rocky promontory overlooking the Oust valley. In 1370, Olivier de Clisson, constable of France, had the fortress built.

Erected at the beginning of the 11th century, the Château de Josselin was once just a simple wooden building. Rebuilt and extended over the centuries, it was modernized by the Rohan family who still live there today. The castle can be visited and also houses a museum of dolls and toys.

During the canalization of the Oust, several places, with wide steps, served until the beginning of the 20th century as public wash houses, which have almost all disappeared. This covered, simple and functional wash house, located at the foot of the castle and at the confluence of the Saint-Nicolas stream and the canal, was set up at the end of the 19th century according to the plan of the architect A. Lafargue who intervened several times in Josselin. http://patrimoine.bzh/gertrude-diffusion/dossier/lavoir-rue-du-canal-josselin/ab50e0d0-142a-469b-8755-4be8a3fd9806 See also https://www.cirkwi.com/fr/point-interet/598959-le-lavoir-et-la-legende-des-aboyeuses
