You can park at a farm to the south and walk from there. Farmer charges €3

These woods were once the home of Galty Castle which was demolished in 1940. It is full of a variety of flora and fauna. Keep a careful eye out for red squirrels and kingfishers. There are wonderful views of the surrounding rolling countryside from the woods as well as the mountains.

The trail snakes alongside the Attychraan River as it bubbles along over rocks and between an avenue of moss lined trees. This is a really magical place to hike.
