Peter I’m so sorry that happened to you, how horrible.

This is a regular ride for me and previously recommended BUT on 16-09-25 I was assaulted by two youths on an illegal electric motorbike on this section of the trail. They repeatedly rammed my bike, eventually I fell into the brambles. They then stole my bike and all my belongings. I was injured with leg lacerations, grazes and bruises. AVOID THIS TRACK IF YOU ARE RIDING ALONE.

September 2, 2025, Ann Boleyn’s Well

A romantic tradition alleges that a blow from the hoof of Anne Boleyn's horse caused the spring (now dry) to rise. However “Bullen's Well” more likely refers to “Bolonia” or “Boulogne”. The count of Boulogne was lord of the manor in the 12th century. The well may have been near a chapel dedicated to “our lady of Boulogne”.
