Buck’s Alley - a little bit of Devon in Hertfordshire, reminds me of some of the foothills around the edge of Dartmoor. Charming, but go easy on the descents, gravel and blind corners mean carrying too much speed could catch you out.

Mostly smooth gravel although eastern end rougher so best to do eastwards. Gorgeous woodland.

Great example of the good cycling paths in Epping Forest - be aware that there are also lots of other tracks (similarly mapped) that are narrow, slippery, overgrown.

Opened in 1869, Finsbury Park lends its name to the nearby neighbourhood and boasts a Green Flag Award. Its many sports and play facilities make it a popular spot and there's also a cafe, which is open seven days a week – ideal for a pitstop.
