An unusually spacious bathing area with a large park in front. Plenty of seating and tables! A very pleasant stay in any case. The lake view is fantastic. Swimming is pure pleasure here, but treading water is also very possible. The entrance looks closed from a distance, but that's deceptive. It's a public area that's frequently used for events, such as concerts in the adjacent monastery ruins.

Built in traditional stone construction, it is a typical example of the heritage culture of Brandenburg villages. The beautiful Altfriedland Monastery Church is one of the oldest buildings in Märkische Schweiz (Markish Switzerland) and tells a story spanning almost 800 years. Originally built between 1230 and 1271 as part of a Cistercian monastery, it was rebuilt in 1734. The striking church tower was added in 1864. Today, the church serves as a Protestant village church and is an important cultural center of the town. In addition to the church itself, the ruins of the refectory and the well-preserved 15th-century cloister are worth a look. These are historical relics of monastic life in bygone times. Its location in the Märkische Schweiz nature reserve makes a visit particularly attractive: Situated directly on the Klostersee (Monastery Lake), the surrounding area offers idyllic views and invites you to take walks amidst a unique natural and cultural landscape.
