The station was opened on June 1, 1874, together with the Alte Wannseebahn. At that time, it was located in the middle of a forest area. The building dates from the opening year 1874 and, like the station building of Bahnhof Lichterfelde West, is built in the style of a Tuscan villa. However, the viewing loggia on the tower belonging to the track bed no longer exists. The station comprises a partially covered island platform 230 meters long. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bahnhof_Berlin-Schlachtensee

The initiative to build the station was taken by the property company Heimstätten AG, which wanted to develop the Nikolassee villa colony. The station was of great importance for the success of the establishment of the villa suburb. Therefore, from 1901 to 1902, the reception building, which was outstanding for the time and designed by Fritz Bräuning and Paul Vogler, was built, combining medieval building elements with Art Nouveau.
