It is very beautiful here and there is even a small jetty to go into the water. The place is also good for resting or spending the night.

It is a war memorial that was built after the First World War (and commemorates the fallen soldiers from the First and Second World Wars. The lookout can be reached via the left side of the monument; there is a corridor that leads to the rear part of the tower so that you can climb the stairs to the top. Great view (definitely even better when the weather is good) - it's worth a detour for that reason alone!

The oldest part of the church is the early Gothic choir built in 1280. The second building of the Rostock Marienkirche, erected between 1265 and 1279, is regarded as a direct model. The choir gable has a group of three windows, as is not uncommon in early Gothic brick (and also fieldstone) churches southwards to the Mark Brandenburg and westwards to the province of Groningen. The side walls each have two slender pointed arch windows. The two choir bays are heavily busted ribbed vaults based on the Westphalian model. The concentration of different species of trees affected by mistletoe is striking. Mistletoe is one of the epiphytic parasites and is a semi-parasite. They use the trees as a host for water and nutrients. The epiphytic plants destroy the cell walls of the trees and drive a wedge into the host tissue. Nature has come up with a special trick to spread mistletoe: its white fruits are extremely sticky. “Many birds like to nibble on the berries. Some of the fruits stick to their beaks. If the birds sharpen their beaks on a branch or leave their droppings there, the mistletoe seeds stick to the bark of the future host tree.
