The Fischerhütte Babke is an ideal destination for paddlers and cyclists. Located directly on the Havel river, it is easily accessible by canoe and also excellently reachable via well-developed cycle paths. Those arriving by car or on foot will also find their way without any problems. The large outdoor dining area offers plenty of seating – both sunny and shady – and has a pleasantly rustic and relaxing atmosphere. Families with children seem to feel particularly comfortable here. The staff are extremely friendly. In addition to meals, there is a large selection of smoked fish, which is also available to take away – a nice idea for the evening at home. The menu is clear and very reasonably priced. We were particularly impressed by the fish rolls: crispy, deliciously filled, and absolutely recommendable. However, the warm fish dishes consist mainly of fried fish. Those who prefer naturally fried or steamed fish should be aware of this. Alternatively, you can also have smoked fish served with potato salad or fries. A minor drawback is the organization at the food counter. Each guest is fully served before the next one is attended to. This can lead to waiting times of about 15 minutes during busy periods. Overall, the Fischerhütte Babke is a great place for a relaxing break during a bike or canoe tour. A delicious fish roll, a cool drink, and perhaps some smoked fish to take home – a stop here is definitely worthwhile. Practical tips: Only cash payment is accepted, and the Fischerhütte is open daily from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Those who plan their tour accordingly will be rewarded with a cozy atmosphere, fair prices, and friendly service.

If it rains now and then it's good. In high summer after 4 weeks of drought, the path is very sandy.
