Eversmeer is a municipality in the district of Wittmund, East Frisia, and belongs to the Samtgemeinde Holtriem. The municipality is located in the area of a formerly much larger central East Frisian moorland, of which only residual areas exist today. The area of the municipality of Eversmeer thus also includes the high moor area in which the Ewige Meer, Germany's largest high moor lake, is located. The area has been a nature reserve since 1939.

In Südcoldinne you find the Tjaden Mühle, a Dutch windmill with a tail pole, which has been located in Südcoldinne since 1922. The mill was originally built in 1901 as a water pumping mill in Nordgeorgsfehn at lock 3 of the Nordgeorgsfehn canal and served there for drainage purposes. In 1922 it was sold, transported to its current location and converted into a grain mill. In 1975 the mill was decommissioned. Today it is used as a museum mill. An interior visit of the mill and the functional milling technology is possible. Source: http://grossheide-damals.de/Die-Tjaden-Muehle/

🚲✨ The view of the Pumptief is a wonderful highlight for everyone who loves the vast and water-rich marsh landscape of East Frisia. This canal is one of the most important arteries for draining the hinterland and offers you an almost endless perspective through the green heart of Krummhörn.

🏰✨ Dornum Castle, also known as Norderburg, is the magnificent landmark of the Lordship of Dornum and an impressive example of Baroque architecture in East Frisia. Enclosed by a wide moat, the castle looks back on a varied history dating to the 14th century.

Since I was on my bike, I was looking forward to a break with a good coffee and a slice of homemade cake. Instead, I found myself in an East Frisian farm shop, which you can only enter with an EC card – very trustworthy. Inside, everything is self-service: coffee from a machine in a paper cup and plenty of "regional" products, which seem to come from generous purchases rather than from home-grown production. Payment, of course, is completely contactless – in the truest sense of the word. So I decided to just keep cycling.
