Since 1888, a small iron tower with a cross-beam beacon had been located about 100 m from the site of the Emden/Knock district headquarters. The light was extinguished in 1969, and the tower was subsequently demolished. At the location of the old cross-beam beacon, the Knock boundary marker, in the shape of a diamond, stands today. When the people of Emden want to recover and relax, they go to the Knock. This is the name of the southwesternmost corner of the Krummhörn, which lies about 15 kilometers west of the port city of Emden, to which it also administratively belongs. The Knock is a popular destination for holidaymakers and locals alike.

The Knock is located about 15 km northwest of the port city of Emden. Long dykes and a small sandy beach invite you to walk or relax in the sun in almost complete seclusion. The beach near the pier is not suitable for swimming due to the strong undertow.
