Autumn 1935: Thanks to numerous donations and the special efforts of Mayor Bauer, construction could begin on the open-air swimming pool, designed by architect Otto Immendorf. A modern facility was built to athletic standards: 50-meter-long lanes, 18 meters wide, with a water depth of up to 2 meters, plus a large diving pit (15 x 8 meters) with three diving boards (5, 3, and 1 meter). The pool was surrounded by a footbath. Source: https://www.fv-freibad-rheda.de/index.php/rueckblick/geschichte

The Ems is a very varied and idyllic river that you can also cycle along very well. You can cycle along the Emsradweg to the mouth of the North Sea. I love cycling along rivers, you always have a good orientation and the direction of flow is steadily downhill.

The railway bridge in Rheda is very idyllic and located directly on our way. Very nice, traffic-calmed and very idyllic with a river.

the path is narrow and one should pay attention to the beginning of the arch. Immediately after that follows a very narrow path, so be careful!
