My dear wife and I passed through here on our hike "Eider Valley with Blue Bridge" on May 21, 2025. We enjoyed the forest and the landscape.

“Nordic Stahlwerk Bach” was founded in 1929 and went bankrupt in 2001. The Neumünster steelworks mainly manufactured parts for shipbuilding and large-scale mechanical engineering. The range ranged from huge pistons and cylinder covers for ship engines to stems and rudder blades to shovels for river dredgers. After the bankruptcy, the buildings fell into ruins until 2008 when investors Stephan Johannsen and Jan Pinno bought the industrial wasteland, which was in danger of collapsing, in order to build a hotel on the site. The former cleaning room with the historic steel cats and the impressive skylight was preserved and was linked to a new brick building. The “Restaurant 1500°C” and 15 event rooms are now located in the gutted former cleaning room of the steelworks. https://www.altes-stahlwerk.com/hotel-altes-stahlwerk-neumuenster
