St. Vitus Church was built in 1834 in the neoclassical style with a nave designed by Clemens Wenzeslaus Coudray and an attached medieval tower with a cross vault and turret. The second gallery houses a pulpit and an organ by J. F. Schulze. Another small organ is located in the tower, which is used as a winter church. The entrances to the church are each equipped with a portal on each side of the nave. https://www.stiftung-kiba.de/kirchen/st-vitus-hopfgarten

Lyonel Charles Adrian Feininger (* July 17, 1871 in New York; † January 13, 1956 in the same place) also visited Niederzimmern. On his bicycle tours, the Weimar-based artist also captured the Wigberti Church in Niederzimmern on his sketch pad and then created a woodcut from it. The Weimarer Land district commemorates Feininger's work with several displays, including in Niederzimmer and Hopfgarten. http://www.niederzimmern.de/aktuell/2007_09_03.htm
