Myllyjärvi Lake is a beautiful little spot to go swimming. It's pretty small, so it can get crowded, but since not many people know about it, you usually find a parking spot in the small lot. There's no sandy beach, so people jump straight into the water from the rocks or the small quay on site. It’s an official beach, so the water is regularly checked and is pretty refreshing, even if it looks a bit cloudy. There is also an outdoor toilet available. Since it’s quite out of the way, you need a car to get here. Many folks head there late in the evening during summer, when the sun stays up late, and it’s a lot quieter.

The Pirkkola outdoor sports park has a large free of charge 24 hours accessible outdoor gym, where you can find diverse outdoor fitness equipment for many kinds of exercise. With the equipment, you can adjust the load to suit your needs, and the different heights of the hanging and pull-up bars and the platforms also enable functional training. Pirkkola sports park is the first Omnigym outdoor gym ever installed in Finland. The original equipment is still in very heavy use, and the gym has been constantly updated over the years. Pirkkola also serves as a test site for new prototypes, so you can occasionally see new devices still in test use there. In late summer 2022, three new devices were installed in Pirkkola: Multi lift, biceps, and extensor device. You can do hack squats and single leg squats in the multi lift. Biceps and extensors are devices that can be done while sitting, with clear red markings for the position of the elbows to achieve the correct range of motion. In the fall of 2022, there were three new devices again - this time a back extension device, an abdominal device and horizontal rowing while sitting. Omnigym's selection already included standing horizontal rowing, but the sitting version also has separate movement arms, which enables training with one hand at a time. These devices are installed on a movable platform, which is an excellent alternative to traditional concrete casting – the platform does not need to be fixed to the ground, but can be easily moved as needed. From early spring 2023, it was the turn of two new devices – a dip device and a stomach bench. The dip device is a very simple device that can be done while sitting. The new belly seat now also includes seat angle adjustment, and the footrest is slightly further away than before. Get the most out of your abs workout with this bench!
