On the Liesboslaan in Princenhage is a mill, called Vrede en Hoop. The mill dates from 1839 and is named after the peace with Belgium in 1839, after the Belgian Revolt. In 1902 the old mill was struck by lightning. The 'new' mill dates from 1902, has a height of 38 meters and ten attics. This makes it (still) the highest historic windmill in the world.
