Alongside the road, you enter a gate and find yourself in a small courtyard surrounded by houses in a Romanesque and Gothic style: this was the ancient Jewish ghetto of Chieri. Various signs explain the history of the site - which is also intertwined with that of Don Bosco. A small alley just over a meter wide leads to the secondary entrance. The site is indicated by explanatory signs, and is worth a visit. ATTENTION: to the south-east there is a gate (opposite one of the entrances) that seems to lead to a further wing of the complex. NO! It is the access to private property, but there is no signage! You may find it open, but stay away.

The Chieri Ghetto was born following the Royal Constitutions of 1723, which forced Jews to reside separately from Christians. A complex of medieval houses is adapted for this purpose. The so-called "Rabbi's House" of Chieri was also reproduced in the medieval village of Valentino.

Beautiful church in the center of Chieri. At a short distance, the historic pedestrian centre. Beautiful destination for a trip, or a nice point of interest for a day of visiting the city.
