In the late afternoon, the light is ideal for taking photos of the Notre-Dame du Roc chapel perched at the top of the cliff.

A good hike to the lookout, but don't do the loop. Do it as an out-and-back hike. There, the downhill path is overgrown and not pleasant. And the return to the road and the national highway is very dangerous. It's better to go back to the lookout.

Roc de Castellane via the Chemin du Roc, which is also the Way of the Cross of the Notre-Dame du Roc chapel. The path up to the chapel is steep, rocky and there is little shade. But you are rewarded with a wonderful view.
