Unfortunately, rainfall has been decreasing for several years now, and the forest ponds are drying up, with some having already disappeared completely.

The bridge is damaged, but you can cross it. Of course, at your own risk. In the summer, the riverbed is a bit muddy, with yellow sand and rocks. Access is quite good from both sides. Overall, it's an interesting place, and I recommend the crossing.

As you can see in the photos, the temple is wooden, three-naved, with a fairly wide main nave and two side naves, formed by pillars supporting balconies. In the presbytery there is a baroque altar from 1683. In its nave there is a cross with a figure of the crucified Christ from 1839. At the altar there are two figures of angels: standing and flying, and on their sides two brass candlesticks from the 17th century. Also characteristic are the twisted columns in the altar, with Corinthian capitals. Particularly valuable are the galleries built into this church on both sides of the nave. The entire presbytery is separated from the rest of the church by wooden balustrades. In the church there is a ten-voice organ from 1799. On the choir there is a historic deer antler. https://mojemazury.pl/8712,Ostrykol-drewniany-kosciol.html

In the village of Ostrykół there is one of the few in Masuria, a former Evangelical wooden church from 1667. Until 1945 the church belonged to the Evangelical community. After World War II it became a Roman Catholic church. https://mazury.com.pl/atrakcje/zabytkowy-drewniany-kosciol-ostrykol-k-prostek/

“Behold the Heart of the Redeemer – an understandable sign of his indomitable love and an inexhaustible source of true peace. In him “the fullness of God truly dwells” (Col 2:9). The peace that Christ brought to earth comes precisely from this fullness and this love. It is the gift of a loving God who loved man in the heart of his only begotten Son. “He is our peace” (cf. Phil 2:14) – exclaims Saint Paul. Yes, Jesus is peace, he is our reconciliation. (…) As we venerate his Sacred Heart today, let us pray fervently for peace: first for peace in our hearts, but also for peace in our families, in our country and throughout the world: Heart of Jesus, our peace and our reconciliation, have mercy on us!” (Address by Pope John Paul II on 7 June 1999 in Toruń)
