This is where the Lega River flows out of Lake Olecko Wielkie, but this is not the beginning of its course. This is also where the pedestrian and bicycle path with the charming name "Wiewiórcza szlak" begins, which runs around the aforementioned lake.

Very nice walking and cycling path around Lake Olecko Wielkie. There are several places for sunbathing and camping. Very few catering points. In places the path is a bit narrow, which makes passing each other difficult. Almost the entire length of the route we ride on a hardened dirt surface, there is little gravel and paving stones.

The monument in Olecko was the second largest monument to the fallen erected in East Prussia and the largest preserved to this day. The monument in Olecko was erected as part of a larger recreational complex known before World War II as Hindenburgpark (Hindenburg Park). In addition to the monument, it included green areas, playing fields and a swimming pool. The construction of the monument was initiated in 1925 by the then Olecko district governor Bruno Wachsmann. The construction of the facility took place in the years 1926-1927. The authors of the monument design were district governor Wachsmann, Beyer and Max Rola, the works were managed by the builder Schneck. The undertaking was financed partly from a public contribution, the material for the construction of the monument was obtained from the district. The monument was ceremonially unveiled on September 11, 1927. It was dedicated to the memory of soldiers from the Olecko district who died in World War I. At the time of its unveiling, it was the largest First World War monument in East Prussia (the larger Tannenberg Monument was unveiled a few days later). After World War II, the plaque with the German inscription was removed from the monument. Currently, the monument in Olecko is the largest preserved object of this type in the province. https://zabytek.pl/pl/obiekty/olecko-pomnik-poswiecony-poleglym-w-i-wojnie-swiatowej

A place to relax and what more can I say, except that there is a small catering point here. The beach is sandy.
