The water tower in Ełk is a historic, monument-protected water tower in the neo-Gothic style. The water tower is owned by and the seat of the local group of the German minority, the Society of the German Minority Masuria in Lyck, which has set up a museum of East Prussian culture and history inside. The structure has five floors, is 33 meters high, and is located at the highest point in the city. It has a public observation deck.

The Deutschordensschloss in Ełk (formerly Lyck) is the ruin of a Teutonic Knights' castle from the late 14th century, built between 1398 and 1406 under Ulrich von Jungingen. The complex, which later served as a ducal seat and prison, is picturesquely located on an island in Lake Ełk in the Polish region of Masuria. The old castle is currently being renovated. The first building is already finished.
