Urban hiking trails around Park Krajobrazowy Gór Słonnych offer a blend of town exploration and natural surroundings within the Eastern Carpathians of southeastern Poland. The region is characterized by its extensive Carpathian beech forests, which cover over 73% of the park's area, and diverse terrain that includes hills and river valleys. While the park itself features higher peaks, urban routes often provide access to the fringes of these natural landscapes from nearby towns like Sanok and Ustrzyki Dolne. These trails allow for exploration of both urban points of interest and the accessible natural features of the Słonne Mountains.

Today was my first time visiting this place. We waited less than 12 minutes for our pizza, and the prices were around 42-44 PLN (33 cm diameter), depending on the type. The dough was nicely risen, and there were plenty of toppings, so the three of us struggled to finish two pizzas. A quiet place, with quiet music in the background. The spacious space is located in the basement of the building, below street level, so there's less outside noise. The name "Oliwki 3" might suggest to someone from outside the city that it's located at number 3 Oliwki Street, but there's no such street nearby. 😀 WW

Open Mon-Fri 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Located on a side street, Żwirki i Wigury 5, near Sanok's Economics Technical School. The location will become even more attractive after the opening of the new bridge extending along Sobieskiego Street, when hikers and cyclists will find the shortest route to the open-air museum. The menu includes 14 sweet crepes, 11 savory ones, plus 5 seasonal and special offers. A bowl of sauce is included in the price of each crepe. The crepes are large and filling; one satisfied my hunger for 22 PLN, but I couldn't finish the second one. WW

The graduation tower is open to the public during opening hours on the grounds of the State University of Sanok. It is a single, wide column, standing between two university buildings. Next to the tower are benches and an information board with the terms and conditions of use (see photos). The board states that the graduation tower is activated by pressing a button located below the board, and that the recommended inhalation time is 45-60 minutes. WW

Homemade ice cream made in Sanok, several unusual flavours: sweet, salty or sour, see photos. Scoop 8 PLN, sugar cone 1.50 PLN. I ordered gingerbread and summer party ice cream - the latter with a hint of sourness, I can recommend both. The ice cream shop is open from 9:00 to 20:00 in the season, and in the case of a cloudy morning from 10:00. There are a few chairs to the left of the building. It is best to come here on foot, because parking at the ice cream shop can be problematic, especially on weekdays. On Saturdays and Sundays, there is no paid parking zone and on these days it is easier to find parking, except for mass hours in the nearby parish church. My jaw dropped when I looked at the receipt - the company is called "SZLAGPOL" 😮 I wouldn't call my company that 🤔, but the name makes sense here - the owner is Piotr Szlaga. 😀 WW

In the 1970s and 1980s, a housing estate was built between Śródmieście Sanok and the San River - a block of four-story buildings. The axes of this estate are Jana Pawła II Street and Traugutta Street. The first one is straight and straight, and the second one winds with gentle curves. At ul. A chapel was built near the Traugutt intersection. On May evenings, residents of nearby blocks gather there, praying together and singing Marian songs.

The stork's nest has been inhabited for years in the same place - on one of the chimneys of a two-story block of flats at ul. Mickiewicza. The busy intersection next to the building apparently doesn't bother the storks as they come back here. They are also not deterred by the artificial bird of prey placed on the adjacent chimney. 😀 WW

The pierożarnia is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Besides serving several varieties of pierogi, they are also available to take away in thermal packaging. We ordered the Hungarian-style pie shown in the photo. In the same building is the flagship store of the Sanok bakery Jadczyszyn, offering bread and pastries. Open Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 4:30 PM and on Saturdays from 6:30 AM to 1:00 PM. WW

Rafting is organized by various companies, and the starting points I know are located on both sides of the Białogórski bridge and below this bridge on the right side of the river, near the sanitary airport. I strongly advise against using this attraction during the flooding of the San, which can be easily recognized by the brown color of the water. The broken branches of trees flow in the river then, and it is easy for misfortune, which we know as inhabitants of this area. The shortest route from Sanok leads to the nearby Międzybrodzie, and further ones to, for example, Dębna, Mrzygłód, Ulucz and Temeszów. There are also canoeing trips along the upper San on the section Zwierzyń - Lesko - Zagórz, i.e. above Sanok. Here are some rafting offers: https://greenponton.pl/ https://sanlis.pl/ https://wycieczki-bieszczady.pl/splyw-pontonowy-w-bieszczadach-rzeka-san/
