From this point until the village of Bollodingen, the road turns into a gravel road. I would advise road cyclists to avoid this stretch of gravel and take the detour to the village of Hermiswil and ride on the busy road between Hermiswil and Bollodingen. The road on itself is of a smooth asphalted surface with no holes but during the morning and evening rush hour, this road has a lot of heavy traffic.
